🫡 Jiu-Jitsu has been part of my life for nearly 30 years — not just as a sport, but as a way of thinking, living, and leading.
I’ve learned that comfort kills growth.
Through victories and defeats, it has taught me discipline, humility, patience, and resilience.
The mats have shaped how I face life — with calm under pressure and strength through struggle.
I compete, I teach, I learn — but above all, I live Jiu-Jitsu every single day.
Every roll is a lesson. Every student, every challenge, every setback — they’ve all shaped the person, athlete, father, husband, and professor I am today.

Yesterday at the ADCC Open in NJ, I had an amazing day with my family, friends, and student competing at the tournament. Michael Tarzan @carzan17 took third place 🥉, and I was fortunate to take first place 🥇. I’m so proud of my student for his perseverance. After losing his third match, he fought his way back through the bracket to win the third place match after five tough battles.

I couldn’t be more thankful to my students for keeping my dream alive and allowing me to help them chase theirs. I’m immensely grateful to living this passion, and experiencing moments like this.

I’m also deeply grateful to my amazing wife, Marina, and my daughters for their constant love and support.

Feeling motivated, proud, and grateful for what’s ahead. Let’s go, SAS! 🥇💪🏽🔥

🇧🇷 Ontem, no ADCC Open em Nova Jersey, tive um dia incrível com minha família, amigos e alunos competindo no campeonato. Michael Tarzan ficou em terceiro lugar 🥉, e eu fui afortunado em primeiro lugar 🥇. Estou muito orgulhoso do meu aluno por sua perseverança. Depois de perder sua terceira luta, ele lutou para voltar à chave e vencer a disputa pelo terceiro lugar após cinco duras batalhas.

Eu não poderia ser mais grato aos meus alunos por manterem meu sonho vivo e me permitirem ajudá-los a perseguir o deles. Sou imensamente grato por viver essa paixão e vivenciar momentos como este.

Também sou profundamente grato à minha incrível esposa, Marina, e às minhas filhas por seu amor e apoio constantes.
